FiberLink, LLC Completes First Year of Operations with Four Transactions
FiberLink, LLC successfully completed four major transactions for its Dark Fiber assets in its first year of operations in 2005. FiberLink's sells dark fiber or provides connectivity services to telecommunications providers such as local telephone exchange companies, cable TV companies, ISP's, wireless carriers and large business users.
"By buying voice, video or data services that are offered by FiberLink, our customers achieve pricing advantages that thus far have only been available to major communications companies." Kenneth D. Anderson, CEO of FiberLink said.
During 2005, FiberLink completed dark fiber transactions with: an Illinois-based local telephone company, a Midwest University Research Consortium, a Nebraska-based technology center, and an Iowa-based telecommunications provider. Total fiber miles sold was roughly 2,000 of FiberLink's inventory of over 80,000 miles. FiberLink will provide ongoing operations and maintenance services for those clients as well as leasing collocation facilities.
Mr. Anderson further stated, "With our enormous asset base, our customers are able to acquire their own dark fiber from our inventory at a cost dramatically lower than that of building their own route."
FiberLink, LLC was formed in 2004 and acquired over 72 strands on 1,160 miles of fiber optic transmission assets extending from downtown Chicago to downtown Denver, connecting such population centers as Davenport/Moline, Iowa City/Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Omaha, and Lincoln. FiberLink is currently owned by three independent telephone exchange companies and Anderson Pacific Corporation, a Chicago private investment firm with extensive rural telecommunications holdings. FiberLink's corporate and sales office is in Chicago, IL and its operations and administration office is in Cambridge, NE.
